Mecum Indy 2016
1979 930 at mecum auction today. High bid hit 140k and did not meet reserve.

That is a cool color combo and it looked pretty in the pictures. I'm sure we'll be told that the car was actually a rusty mix-master jalopy, though.
Here's everything minus a 993TT: ![]() The C4S bid to $75k was estimated at $160-180k. They were off just a little on that one. Last edited by Skwerl; 05-21-2016 at 03:17 PM.. |

The 993 aerokit didn't meet reserve at $100k? Is it so very special?

One owner, photo'd nicely and the uncommon aerokit is a cool perk, I guess.

2011 Turbo S with 9k miles for $80k is a steal. At least $15k under value. Lots of car for the money.

Thats Indy for you. Porsches have historically never sold well in Indiana... even at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg auction, before it went under, they never sold well. It looks like they are coming around since the markets are hot, but still good buys to be had in Indiana.

Oh, and "buyers at Mecum don't know what Porsches are." That's the other excuse.

![]() Do you think that the frequent did-not-sells that are being seen at various auctions is an indicator that some folks are pricing these type cars unrealistically? Last edited by Rawknees'Turbo; 05-22-2016 at 08:58 AM.. |

Mecum Indy 2016
I'd say that 79 930 would have been a steal at $140,000. Orignal car.

That one was listed as a NS, however almost all got sold at reasonable prices. Looked like a decent place to buy this time.
