991 GT3RS prices

Looks like most asking prices are down $50-75K.

Hmm. Porsche center Copenhagen got around 8. All sold on preorder and flipped. What is the price now?

Depends on the color. PTS and the purple cats are still $300K and over. Sometimes a car or two in those colors might dip below $300K. If the new RS 991 has a manual trans, the auto 991RS's will drop like a rock.

Oh and you know they will. How long do you think Porsche can/will go without a manual? Its not like they can't produce them. (R)

So the question is not if, its when... and rumor has it they're coming.
This whole automatic (oops) PDK/paddle shift craze, in my humble opinion, was Porsche pimping its new car market share.

How many new 991s, GT3 & RS' have they sold just because of they have an "auto" trans? I personally know of several women who've always thought a 911 was kinda cool, but had no desire to own a manual.. now they have a 99. I know several guys that have waaaaaaaay too much car for them in a GT3RS.. but hey, they got one because they could afford it and.. you guessed it, its an automatic/PDK.

That being said, I think we'll se manuals coming down the pike in the very near future and the current RS speculators better hold on to their shorts!

The 991 GT3 RS market is full of speculators IMO. Lots of dealer to dealer flips. Someone is going to get burned in the end. I have a couple of friends in that world and they told me that prices have come down in the past 3 months. You can pick them up 2nd hand for around $50k over unless its a PTS. Lots of people who got their allocations in early got them for MSRP.

The rumor I heard is that 991 GT3.2 will have the manual (R) as a option and a 4.0L engine. Allocations are already filled up and they will be 2018 models. The .2 RS (if they make it) will keep the PDK only.

As the most fastest of all 911s it makes sense to me that the RS keeps the pdk. Pdk will always outperform the manual.

That depends on both driver and particular environment...

Depends on driver clearly. But any driver, same driver and other things being equal, back to back laps on manual and pdk, pdk is faster every single time for sure.

Almost.. I've seen several drivers on track with PDK who are fast in the straights, not so much in the twistiness, the manual boys are all over them and beyond.. or the PDK can't overtake until he get's straight again. Having experience with both, PDK is a whole different ride in terms of set-up etc.. although I get your point. :-)

Porsche is bringing the manual back.. though I'm sure PDK will remain available

There is no Fn'ing way any human can anywhere near as fast as a computer. You put the same driver in an identical manual gearbox car and a pdk car and they will turn much quicker laps in the pdk car. You lose a lot of time shifting gears on a typical lap no matter how good you are.

Yea yeah.. partially true.. as I'm actually a few seconds faster in the PDK car once warmed-up and adjusted.
However, as I've said before, skill level and car control play a major role regardless of the computers, and nannies, you still have to know how to use them or trouble is waiting etc..

Oh, and can we get this tread back on track, I believe we were talking about 991GT3 prices and the fluctuations there of.. not PDK vs. manual

Thx

Love the car. But it is brutal looking. Would still take a nice 964 RS any day.

same driver any track pdk is faster.
u dont even have to shift, put in auto, they thing kNOWS. i dont know how it knows. but it knows and will out smart you. even at pro level, if you take them off the record, several current factory drivers are faster in PDK.
