Again, and I'm not making this up.
These guys are gypsies. If you have ever had the misfortune of taking to or meeting one of them, its almost comical what scumbags they are. |

Chris is right 100%. They're also the ones who drive around and honk at you to get your attention, "I fix car cheap." Meaning they will slap on a ton of bondo or spray paint your bumper and make it worse than before. Always a scam. Also if you ever try to sell a 60's mustang... you're asking for it

You get them on Craigslist ads all the time.
As in, 'what's your best cash price?'. Well, what's written in the ad! 'I have cash in hand, what's your best cash price?' See above.

I had dealt with gypsys lately. I was in the front yard and the garage was open . You could see the back of a early 911 . They stopped asked if they could see the car, sure no problem. They looked at the car and asked if it was for sale I said sure make me an offer. The guy said would you take 25k for it. My reply was you obviously are clueless to what you are looking at. The guy had a puzzled look but I played along. Told him I already had a deposit on the car at ten times his offer. He just walked back to his car and drove off. The car went to Canada

It's probably not so much that he was clueless as he was hoping you were.

CAUTION: Some of these "gypsies" use your for sale ad as a qualified lead list of cars to check out to determine if they want to come back and steal it. They will come to your home or business, if you let them, so they can scope out your place.
Whenever I sell a car to a stranger I don't give my real name until the transaction is about to go down, ie cash is in hand and title is changing. I meet people at the title bureau to have them check the car (never meet at my home or business) and if they want to buy we go straight inside to the bureau and swap the title. This ensures a clean transaction as the buyer has to transfer title and pay his taxes then.

If I went to buy a car and the seller suddenly changed his name I would think he could not be trusted and would walk away, especially if he was not at his home address..

You wouldn't be selling me a car acting like that for sure.

Where would we be without the smart guys to tell us how to price things, the guys who were selling muscle cars and who knows what last week, but are Porsche experts this week. ---Adam
