Guards Red vs India Red confusion.. Help needed, please

Hey guys,

I need to repaint our 1977 Porsche 930 that is not wearing its original color. I just received the COA for the car and the code is:

Guards (India) Red/G8

Is there anyone that knows for sure if this is indeed Guards Red or India Red. I honestly do not even know how India Red looks like.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Looking through cross reference charts. Code 027 was call India Red until 1979 then the code stays 027 but the name changes to Guards Red.

I'm sure someone else here knows more. I'm just looking at this cross reference chart.

Thanks D.

I did some online research and half the people are saying that these colors are identical, and the other half states that there is a difference. Perhaps the key is the year of my car.

The only difference in paint is the Name, which is different based on the year of manufacture of the car, honest.

Same color, just given different names in different years. There is a long thread about it on reenlist.
