Considering sale or trade of G50 coupe, value help pls

I'm starting to use my 87 coupe as more of an incidental car and wondering if its one vehicle too many. Lots of comps for low mile creampuffs but mine's a bit different - 120k miles, full top end rebuild & clutch, associated while-you're-in-theres, uses no oil no leaks, full crimson leather, a damn nice car if I say so. Paint not perfect, some of the blemishes appear in this pic, mostly bumper related. Otherwise no stories.

Wondering what a 'real' sale price might be and which manual 993 coupes would be a straight trade. I'm interested in a C4 with the possibly misguided notion that I'd actually use it in the CT winter.

Why not drive the 3.2 in the winter?

Looks like a $40kish car all day. Should be a even trade for a driver C4 993 with the same mileage.

No shakedown, just curiosity based on what you wrote in the ad.

you should do what leh keen did and raise the suspension, all terrain tires and then let her rip tater chip!

but a c4 would be a great comfortable car for the winter.

While the 4 wheel drive would help immensely in the CT snow, I doubt you'd drive it more. It's more or less the same car rust wise, still retains the 'baby it' persona some of us are guilty of obliging and still looks better clean than it does with brown slush residue all over it.

$40 sounds about right tho. Nice car.

It is a beautiful car, however I don't think 40k is the "real" price. There are a lot of g50's out there in the mid 30's just sitting. Just my opinion, but check around on other sites and I think you will get a clearer picture of the market.

This is a strong comp: $48K

For what its worth I am sort of between hillskier and Mac on your car. Good color combo but a year older and more miles than the car that traded on BAT.

I would say $42 ish.

Looking at the 993 market, you probably wont find a 993 C4 in that price range thats in comp shape. Just because its a C4 does not mean its great in the snow. If you pop for a set of Blizzaks it will be a lot better than a C2, but its not an SUV. It will get you home in the snow but you're not really going stomping around in 6 inches of fresh powder in it. You still have the same salt issues too.

Actually, a standard 911 with snow tires is an amazing thing. You'd be surprise by how much grip you have. In fact, you'll find that it corners and stops better then SUV's.

993 c4s have a viscous center diff that are notorious for failing.

Thanks for the advice. High 30's low 40's feels about right. The red BaT car is probably nicer. Boring colors, nicer paint. I am rolling on a new top end and clutch however. I'd probably hold onto it if I couldn't get low 40's.

I know the C4 business is sort of magical thinking but there are other things involved. The move is to sell the G50 and the wife's S2000 and turn them into one super practical family vehicle that will compliment the NYC commuter beater E30 and be more of a "real" car than the Alfa, whenever the hell it gets on the road (not a very high bar). Wife only buys in when AWD is part of the mix and I'm not opposed. So the snow thing isn't the be all and end all but it is a nice bonus. A/C too.

Before someone tells me I should have gotten a 325ix, I know. But try finding one w/o terminal rust or stancing.
