I think we determined the owners of yellow cars are nuts. Skwerl is probably correct in what it would take to reach the reserve. If a 73 911T is worth $175k, well then sky's the limit on this one.

Yes this is a $800,000 car. But we will have to wait some time. 15 to 20 years worth of appreciation.

The difference is one is a PTS color and is stock, the other car is modded. You're right, plenty of inventory of 79's, not an easy car to sell right now in driver's condition. Exceptional collector condition cars are a different story - still plenty of those available as well.

The second one would be the car for me. Nice car with more power to drive and have fun in. The price he is asking is cheap IMO. People are asking that much and more for a lot less car. Ex pre 73.5 911's. But I live in CA and the modifications would make it impossible to register.

The first car is just chasing the "collector car" market buyer. Rare color, low miles, park me and look at me, boooring.

I like both of those cars for exactly what they are and the pricing is pretty good on both for what they are.

The first, as has been said, is a PTS car, documented 1 owner, mostly stock car, with documented miles the $125k is a pretty decent deal, if not "good" deal.

IIRC this car was on consignment with Sloan for a fair amount of time. Not surprised that if its the same car it didnt sell there. Sloan asks over the top money for the cars he consigns. At the height of the market he was really over the top.


The second car is more my taste, and if its legit and you get a very thorough PPI, I think its a good deal too.

Rich collectors are either extremely savvy with advanced networks to find the cars they want or dumb yokels baffled by that there magic innernet box. Depends how the auction goes.
