1967 912 Long Hood Roller deal or no deal
1967 912 long hood.
-Floor pans are rusted -Rockers have bondo all over then -No tail lights or rear bumper -No motor but comes with a trans out of little bit newer 911 Guy who is selling it has the original title in the first owners name still. I'm contemplating picking it up he was asking 5,000. I don't know the values of these cars but thought I'd post up on here. Car will come with brand new wheels (that aren't the same lug pattern for some reason), brand new (replica) sparco racing seats and rails, and other parts that he has for the car. Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the bad pics, forgot to take better ones while I was there ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I wonder how many of these 912 projects get bought and sit around in the new owners garage contemplating the $100K+ restoration on a car worth what, maybe $40-50 max?

Way to much stuff missing. You would be hard pressed to make your money back parting out what is left. Missing motor means a NON-numbers matching car which is worth approx. 35%-40% less value than a numbers matching. NOS parts will cost you a mint to do a resto right as Chal saaeng gin says. If you could get it for free that would be cool. Just my thoughts.

No deal. Things have not gotten to this point yet. That car needs a lot of attention. A lot.

No.
Rust is in 10,000 more places than you can readily see. This is at minimum a $15K chassis restoration, putting you in the car at $20K for a roller needing $15K in parts and $XXK in paint. Unless you are doing all the work yourself, pass. If you are thinking of parting it, there are people who will pay $2.5 - 3K for the rolling shell, maybe $5-600 for the core trans. The Chinese knockoff seats and non-Porsche wheels have minimal value. Again, pass.

And yes I'd be doing most the work myself as it wouldn't be a complete resto more of a outlaw car build. |

I say buy it! $3000 is a steal... This is what $15k buys in Australia:
