The value is in the VIN.

If it's a T or an E, Fubawu is probably right that it's not worth a whole lot (but is a '72, so may be a cool candidate for hot rod base)

If it's an S he can probably get mid-teens for it.

If your friend wants bookends I have a burned red 912, would make a great art installation!

Seriously, it depends on what it is, I can tell it's a 72, but what model is it? Did 72T's have MFI, I think they did.

I could cut the front end off and sell it as a complete clip, if the driver's side is savable. There will be a lot of guys in the near future who will be taking the 80s improvements off their car and will need the metal to do it. Like my favorite buy, a matching #'s 73S, with full Miami Vice treatment, it even had unicorns etched in the glass, who does that?

LOL! Shot beer out of my nose.

To The OP, as far as I know burnt metal isn't very useful. To cut the VIN out and put in another car would be really shady, not to mention illegal.

Don't assume too quickly its only good as a parts car. There is hope for saving a fire ravaged car like that. Though the older sheet metal of Tom Medley's fire ravaged 1940 Ford may have been slightly thicker, dedicated volunteers restored it.

Before...

After...
