Weissach sports seats?

Hi- Picked these up last week. Seller's ad stated they were from a late 80s Carrera even though the shape didn't seem correct. I was kind of thrown off by the contrasting piping which I've mostly seen on later seats. He'd won them in a PCA raffle back in the early 90s and they've been sitting on a shelf for 25 years.

Did some research and I believe they may be the color pattern from the 1980 Weissach edition. Kind of a creamy beige gray with burgandy piping. One oddity - they only have the backrest release knob outboard of each seat, not a pair in the center even though there are indents in the foam to accommodate them.

Not so much interested in an estimate of value although feel free to chime in. More so hoping someone can confirm that they're the Weissach seats. Might change my plans for them. I was going to re-dye them cork, but they (or the skins, at least, might be more valuable to someone with the matching interior). Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

There is a Weissach SC in the for sale section. There are some decent pics of the seats. They look similar

Yes, those do appear to be Weissach seats.

Given you plan to dye them, sent you a pm if interested in trade. These are Weissach seats, need a little work.

Yes, Weissach sport seats. Somewhat rare.

Never seen these before. They look like a sport seat bottom with a comfort/standard seat back. They came original in the Weisssach edition?

Sport seats

Yes, Weissach. A friend has them in his car. Those are the sport seats from the late 70's and perhaps 80-82.

They are sport seats, but I can't tell from the pic if it is from a Weissach. The piping looks more brown, and should be a burgundy/bordeaux color as in post #4. The seats also look to be more of an oyster color.

The first pair of seats from the OP appear to be the 81-84 sport seats. The Weissach 911 being 1980 only should have the 74-80 sport seats.

^^ You'd think so but Weissach seats look just like 81-84 seats.

If you decide to sell I would be interested in purchasing, although I would dye them black.

The new-style sport seats were introduced during the 1980 model year (~May 1980)...all the Weissach models had the new style.

Thanks for the clarification on the sport seats. I just did a Google search and it looks like they had the later sport seats.

The only exception was this Weissach 911 sold at Mecum. It has the earlier sport seats. https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0115-204037/1980-porsche-911sc-weissach-edition/

Think it's possible that some Weissach 911s had earlier sport seats or is this an incorrect seat recovered car?

Hi- Thanks for the feedback. I've spent a fair bit of time looking around the internet and am pretty certain these are the Weissach seats. My camera doesn't do the colors justice. I doubt they were ever recovered. As noted, the guy who sold them won them in a PCA raffle in the early 90s and they've been in storage for 25 years. If they look a bit different, it's probably from lack of use compared to cars listed for sale currently. The passenger seat looks new and the driver's seat shows only minor wear. I think the seller's ad mentioned they'd been out of the car for a while when they were raffled off.

Will likely order new skins and offer these skins on the used parts forum in the future. The seats are too good to sell - really firm and they make my car go faster.
