How to quickly lose $500k investing in classic cars.

Buy at Monterey Sotheby’s for $1mm
1967 Toyota 2000GT | Monterey 2014 | RM Sotheby's

Sell for $560k online
1967 Toyota 2000GT | Bring a Trailer

Talk about doing it backwards.
Looks like a $300k payday for the new buyer after he resells at a proper auction.

I find it bizarre that that car is a half a buck car, let alone a full buck. There have to be a hundred other cars I'd rather have. I'd take a 924 over it.

Not saying the Toyota is much better by any stretch, butt daaayyyuuummmnnnn, a 924 is even less manly of a car than a fookin' Boxsturd or a Slowster! I'm beginning to worry about you, SickRick - are you feeling OK?!?! I think you need to hit the boost pipe more often, Bro!!!

Then you are missing the point.

You don't have to worry yet, my friend, not until I express interest in a car such as this one, which was tested doing zero to 60 in 32.2 seconds.

^^^

That's a weird looking 356 (or maybe it's a 912?!) - some kind of early, rare, and desirable body kit?!?! Too bad it's not painted a fecal or flesh tone - would bring more money then!!!

Indeed. Very strong estimates on a lot of other (non-porsche) cars, too, even on some which don't look all that special.
