'69 911T w/ 3.2 & 915
I'm considering selling one of my cars and wanted to get some thoughts on valuation as I haven't been as close to the market as I used to be.
The car is 1969 911T with a 3.2 and 915. I do not know what the mileage on the motor or trans is. It runs great but does have some smoke on occasion on decel like most higher mileage 3.2s. Has SSIs and dansk stainless 2-1 muffler. It shifts through all the gears just fine but sometimes a little tricky to get into first - synchro probably getting worn. It was a factory sand beige car but was repainted white with SC flares and new floor pans about 8-10 years ago. Fiberglass RS "S" front bumper and fiberglass rear bumper. The paint is very presentable, not show car but very nice. The decklid is a proper '69 but is painted matte black. The interior is presentable - RS door cards, RS carpet, black cloth corbeau seats (very reminiscent of Rs), modern headunit with amp under seat, dash cap, cool 3.2 gauges that were refinished in 356 style / coloring (i.e. green lettering). Has konis, new ball joints, new spring plate bushings, new a arm bushings, new starter, larger carrera gas tank. Lowered but not too low. Front pan is solid. All in all I would say it is a very presentable driver. I'm sure there are multiple things I'm forgetting. I've put 15K miles on it during my ownership with no issues other than basic maintenance. It's a great looking car overall. So what are thoughts on a reasonable price range? Thank you in advance!! |

I'd peg it at $35-45k pending more photos of interior and chassis.

I kinda love this car. At $35K it would make somebody very happy if the engine checks out.

^^^ What? Project long hoods cost that much guys. That is a good car to put on BAT. I'm not going to guess on the value without more pictures.

That is a good looking car and it's probably a lot of fun with the 3.2 |

A long hood that is presentable with a 3.2 is not $35k guys?? What is this 2010??
$50k-55k would be a good starting point pending the rest of the car resembles that pic

I didn't call it a project. I was trying to point out that cheap fixers cost that much and this car is definitely not a fixer.

Based on the minimal info, I'd say Fubawu is right - $50K at minimum - possibly as high as $60K.
The matte black engine lid is going to stop some folks cold, though.

Plus, the paint isn't great. At $35K, I'm in safe enough to rebuild that 3.2 and the 915, which is exactly what I'd do and have one hot, hot rod.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate all of the responses. As some have noted, a decent project longhood is $35K. I would buy multiples of this car at $35K all day long. But I know it's difficult to really come to any conclusions based on the one picture. Hard to tell the paint condition in that picture but it's very nice coming from a guy who paint corrects cars coming off the showroom floor. Interior would be near perfect with a new dash, repaint of the metal dash, and new basket weave trim. Then it's really a personal preference on seats.
My thoughts when I posted it was some where in the $50-60K range. It's not perfect but it's hard to get a solid longhood with good paint, decent interior and a 3.2 in the $40s much less the $30s. |

Some buyers will like the changes some will not. 912's that have been made into 911 hot rods seem to have a hard time getting above the $40k mark. I'd be interested to watch the bidding on this T on BAT and also the "expert" opinions on there as well.

I'm with Nick on pricing but I'd love to see what would happen with it on BAT. People lose their minds on BAT bidding way more than they would on eBay so that's your best bet.

The devil is in the details on any of these hot rod builds. What separates the $30's cars from the $50's and up and up is all in the details. How well documented is the build. How well executed is the build. How well do all the components work together.
The car looks nice and it should be a hoot to drive. Lose the yellow headlamp lenses, they'll kill a fairly large pool of buyers. Have the rear deck lid painted to match. Put the details together and see how it stacks up. Nice Car!

I have a friend that was trying to sell a 69 3.2SS that was in 2+ condition wanted $85K and had a difficult time getting an offer over $67K. There are buyers who have not caught up to where today's hot rod market is...... so based upon description this car is a 3 with needs.... $45 tops.

I think it's $50k-$60k car all day long...front bumper is a little funky and Fuchs would help
with resale but not much sells in the 45k and under range that doesn't need work. I guess it depends on the engine condition. Only a proper PPI would shed some light on that. Not saying their isn't deals out there...if you want to sell for $45k let me know, I wouldn't mind flipping it for a 10k profit ![]() What seats are in the car now?
