97 993 C2S Value

Trying to value this car for a friend. It was in his garage that caught fire. So interior has smoke damage, mirrors and front bumper melted. It's been sitting outside for 3 years since the fire.
Mileage is 42k. Not sure if the value is just the drivetrain or if car would be worth fixing. It has a salvage title.

Would need quite a few more pictures to assess full extent of damage, but based on what's there I'd say it's definitely worth keeping together. It's a cool split grill C2S, but everything (including the drivetrain) is going to have to be gone through.

I'd be shocked it somebody didn't pony up mid $20's for it, even with the salvage title

Smoke damage is so incredibly tough to completely clean. It affects every part of a car. My thoughts are the car is probably a parts car at this point given that it already has a salvage title. I really dont follow values but i would think mid 20's will get some takers.

The motor is probably worth mid 20's itself.

No way. Not in that condition. I wouldn't pay $10K for it.

I stand corrected. Silly me.

That ebay motor would like very nice in one of my cars.

He hasn't tried to start it since fire. What else does smoke damage effect besides the interior?
It's a shame since this is a widebody that it was damaged.

This will be an expensive rebuild and it will still be sold with branded title..... I would be surprised at higher than $15,000. The car will never be worth more than $60K. That would leave $45 for all repairs. Tight budget.

I'm sure this would sell for far more than people are estimating here if you put it on BAT. People over there are paying 19k for a rusted out '89 Carrera with a bad engine and $24k for a rolled 964. Just silly.
