Looking to flip this 911

I have a line on a 74 911. It looks to be the subject of an above average amateur restoration. It has a nicely done aftermarket EFI system. 15" Fuchs with no center caps. No rust anywhere. Factory sunroof. New interior including dash and headliner. Super clean in the trunk and engine compartment. Leaks a little oil around the cam covers and engine case joint. No puddles. Runs excellent. Shifter is tight. Needs new tires. Paint is shiny but has a few runs. Masked off really well or probably painted without the trim. Says 911S on the engine cover, but VIN says it is just a 911. VIN 91141xxxxx.

I am looking to flip this car. I don't want to hold out for 6 months to get top dollar. I want to turn it relatively quickly. Would anyone want to throw out a value?

$25K easy. Maybe closer to $30K if you are close or in CA. If someone digs the EFI maybe more especially if that is a 3.0 and not a 2.7.

Is 'The Club' on the steering wheel part of the deal? Be careful when saying there is 'no rust anywhere.'

I'd say $25K or $25,010 with The Club.

Nice color though.

I guess a 1974 regular 911 could technically be the last year of the 911 in this body style. If that means anything. They'd give you probably $5k more in California because of emissions, with or without The Club.

Sorry, forgot to thank you for all the awesome photos. It gives people a real sense of what is going on here. Wish everyone did the same when asking a value question. If I had a lead on this car I wouldn't want to flip it though...

Put new tires on it...just good psychological business.

I'd say the $25k being thrown around is for a quick sale no PPI

$28-31k for quick sale w/ PPI (car will need to be in a major market location)

$34-37k for the "wait six months for the right buyer"

I'd list it at $31k and be prepared to take the first offer over $27k

If it's sahara beige it's a wonderful color. Sounds like a very nice sleeper. I think it can definitely sell with a 3 handle.

That could be an Ebay dream but should be an easy flip. Like others said good description and pictures, definitely helps and I appreciate the honesty of "just flipping it".

VIN tells us it is a basic 911, not as S but that doesn't mean it didn't get an S motor transplanted into it. Get the motor number and post it here so we can verify what size it is or post the engine type if you can get it, that will help with the value. If it is a stock 2.7 motor will begin with 614xxxx. A 3.0 SC motor would start with a few different ones but 628xxxx,629xxxx up to later numbers like 64Cxxxx for later motors.

I doubt someone did all that EFI conversion work to a basic 110hp 2.7 so that will make a big difference in value. Figure worst case it should bring $25K because even if it has it's original motor, it has it's original motor!! So bad but good Figure it is not the original motor and a 3.0 and shouldn't have trouble bringing $30K fairly quickly although the market has cooled off a bit so if you can make your money selling it at $25K to leave some room for the next guy then I would go for it.

PS gotten any offers yet via PM??

Good luck
J

Where do I look for the engine numbers?

Just on the right hand side of the cooling fan, will be vertical. Also the engine type will be just below that on the block...

Stolen from the web...:

You used to get a lot of blowback about flippers on this site. Guess it's the difference between individuals and dealers.

Oh well, no skin in the game - just an observation.

This guy started out this thread up front and honest about flipping the car and has stayed that way throughout. I for one appreciate his honesty.

I think bottom feeding flippers will still get blowback here. I don't believe the OP is one of these.

I'd pay $25-27k for that car, if I was shopping for another 74.

I am one of they guys that had a problem with a recent flipper, but I do not have a problem with this at all. The OP is upfront, not hiding anything in the photos, is accurately describing his intentions and I believe the car as he knows it.

I wish it was closer, I would take a look. Sounds like he can buy it right and put it on the market for fair value and make a few dollars. Good for him. GLWTS.

Yeah it's not like those people who keep a couple kids refreshing the websites every 30 seconds so they can be thw first to lowball the seller.
