Toying with selling my '88 Carrera
Help me value my '88 Carrera Coupe.
I've owned the car for 12 or so years. It's a street car set up for track use. I have everything needed to return it to stock, such as the seats. It has zero rust. It's extremely well maintained. The paint is presentable, but old. Paint has a few flaws, such as where my ex keyed it. (see photo for example.) 102,000 miles Guides, valves & head studs done at 94,000 miles (2008) New A-arms, spring plates, bushings, etc, at 92,000 miles (2007) 23/30 T bars Bilstein shocks Tarret sway bars & mounts Sparco Evo seats 6 point harnesses Momo wheel w/ disconnect Bolt-in roll bar RS door panels 6/7 Fuch wheels 7/9 BBS wheels H4 headlights OEM tools, air compressor, owner manuals Everything except A/C works (needs new hoses) Apologies for the crappy cellphone photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Honest looking car - return it to stock. You will scare away a lot of potential buyers with the boy racer stuff.
Around 32.5 for the car + what you can get for the racer mumbo jumbo. Good luck w sale. |

Assuming you intend to keep being honest about the fact it has seen some track time, try to sell it as is. Christian is a purist. Not everyone is. I would buy and drive that car just how it sits.

Nice car and it's a G50 too, but too bad about your cell phone.

Yes. Sorry, forgot to put a value in first post. It's around a $35k car. Ask $37,500 and be open to negotiation.

Mid 30's shouldn't be a problem. I would put the original seats back in and a non-whale tail deck lid if you have it. Get a full detail, PPI, write a transparent description, take 75 solid photos (not in direct sunlight) and throw it up on BAT.

I'm not a full-on purist, but the wheels do not do this car any justice - nor any other car that they would be on. Change out the wheels (easy) and sell it on BaT. Bet it brings $36-$38K.

I would put the interior back to stock. Sell it with stock wheels. I like the whale tail on this red car. I think 36k-37k all day long. Maybe more because of the upgrades, g50, and rebuild with records.
