My 84 Carrera Cab is for sale lets discuss here
Price reduction to $27,900
I never really agreed with the format of no discussion on cars for sale. I do remember back when comments got pretty nasty and petty, but I think rational readers could filter out the wild comments and process them accordingly. I think perhaps thats why BAT seems to be doing so well getting top dollar for many auctions. My 84 absolutely has stories with the "water damage" brand from 2000. The only problem, although it was a big one, has been the broken head stud. I just think its time to sell it. Ive got a 993 tip cab that I seem to grab the keys to when i go out for a convertible drive. By the way, I never was able to budget in a 991. So... whats your opinion of my 84? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/927963-1984-carrera-cab-32000-a.html#post9531426 Last edited by wm711; 03-30-2017 at 04:59 AM.. |

Looks like a sweet deal if there no issues with rust/water damage under the surface. Rebuilt engine and transmission is a major plus. GLWS

!!!Correction, the car was in Tampa when the water damage occurred in 2001!!! AGAIN, THE CAR WAS IN TAMPA WHEN THE WATER DAMAGE OCCURRED IN 2001. I just reviewed the carfax again for the first time in a long time.
https://www.carfax.com/showroom/#/report/WP0EB091XES170065 Best reasonable Offer!!! Car currently shows 50948 miles, the milage on the oil filter is how many when engine was re installed after the head studs and top end. I do have some receipts from previous owner, nothing big. I just replaced the wiper stalk with a new one from our host. It wouldn't park when switched off. When I had the seats out I had most the carpet out, I found no evidence of rust. Never have see any. There was some paint flaking around the corners under the carpet, mainly on the passenger side. I did use some POR 15 that I had left over from an old project. I will take pictures of that and add to my listing. Ill also get the car on my lift and take some of the undercarriage. I will be posting a car fax which supports the milage. Not 100 percent as the car did need an odometer repair when I purchased. Car is located in Paducah, KY. The car was in East Tennessee in 2000 when the water damage occurred. That is polishing compound on the filter not paint... ![]() Last edited by wm711; 03-30-2017 at 06:32 AM.. |

If it was an ocean flood, it's going to have more problems that even show 17 years later. Flood cars are a serious issue. However I think you're being really honest - and since you fixed the head stud that is no longer an issue. You'll be able to sell it - don't freak out though. Someone will be able to check the car out. I'd remove the door panels, check in the rockers, check out the torsion tubes. It might be a lot of work for an inspection, but at least you know what you're looking at. |
