Selling 911 SC Project vs. Roller + Motor + Trans vs. Parts
Hello Pelicans,
I have 83 SC Sunroof project I will be posting for sale in June or July. Instead of putting together a great car, I am selling the project to buy the car I want (SC Targa). I think the consensus is clear that a roller, motor and trans sold separately will garner the most money. Given I am in no rush, it was suggested I look at selling the parts separately, then the tub last. Does anyone have experience with parting it out? Yes, I know it will take longer and packaging and shipping is a pain but from a purely financial standpoint, how much more is it worth? Yes, I do know it is somewhat soulless to dismantle a complete SC. This is a numbers question. Thanks in advance. John |

Post some pictures of it- if someone can use what you have as a package deal might make sense for everyone to sell it whole.

If you can show the motor running in the car you can maximize your money, if not you're into core prices, and then it might make sense to sell as a whole car.
More info needed. ---Adam

Thanks. I intend to post photos when I get it ready for sale. The motor is in the car but not hooked up. It only has 88k but has been sitting for 2 years, one month.
My question is more along the lines of parts prices. Is there a rough estimate for how much the parts are valued at? Thanks. |

Like others have said, the engine loses a lot of value not running.
And without pictures hard for us to really assess what you have. Help us to help you. Otherwise I say your roller is worth $7-17k because I can't see it.

Thank you. Given the engine sat for 2 years, I think I would need to bring in an expert to get it hooked up and safe to start. What is the dollar value of certainty?
Thanks. |

Rust? Color? Condition of paint? What kind of wheels? Condition of interior? Numbers matching car? Accident history? Any documentation to support mileage? Records/service history from previous owners? Tool kit / manual / compressor included?
Differential between complete and parting out could be $2k to $10k depending on answers to above.

We are really getting no where with out pictures of the car. Most people on here that are looking for a 911 project do not care if it has been sitting for 2 years. You're going to need to post pics and any supporting info you have on the car for any kind of valuation of what you have.
