Advice on selling my 73 Targa on Ebay

The three year restoration of my 73 911 T Targa is nearing completion and I am thinking of selling it on Ebay. I would appreciate any hints, help, or experiences any of you guys have with this method of marketing the car. Since the amount of money that will be changing hands is significant(I hope!), I am apprehensive about selling the car to essentially sight unseen strangers. All the cars I have sold in the past 50 years have been to people I have met and who have driven the cars.

Thanks in advance for any help or information you might have.

John

Pretty much everyone is going to tell you Ebay is primarily an advertising venue more than an actual sales platform.

Sure, cars do sell there -- but they non-paying bidder rate is ridiculous.

Bringatrailer is likely a better option if you are seeking an auction venue. Lots of searchable threads on it. Key is active engagement during the auction, and thorough high quality photography -- pics of the restoration process are a bonus.
