Price comparisons?

Hey all

Just as a discussion, maybe leading to a follow up. I have a 1970 911T Targa, great mechanically, drives very well, original interior again great condition, most of the little rust issues completed, needs a paint after that, non original paint as is. This car will never be showroom in my hands, just a reliable car that can be driven for fun or daily use.

I'm interested in a 911 SC coupe of the 78 -83 era, no whale tail, original paint, sound mechanically.

I'm thinking, maybe incorrectly, that my 70 Targa with some work to do may be of the same value as a mid range, original, complete, and mechanically sound 911SC.

Any thoughts?

Cheers...

I agree. I think you're in the ballpark.

I applaud your upgrade. I think it's a fantastic idea. I've often thought of trading my '75 S up a SC if someone in California wanted a non-smog car. Since I'm not in CA it doesn't matter anymore.

To me just to a have an aircooled 911 is enough. Maybe a little newer one.

I have to admit I'm liking this idea more and more, simply to do with usability as I would daily drive an SC coupe, the Targa is fantastic but just doesn't get the use it deserves. This isn't a promotional thread in preparation to sell, I'm in Australia, just after thoughts.

Can anyone comment who's owned a 70 and a SC of the 78-83 era and describe the drive/feel differences between them?

Cheers
