912/6

Aside from the fantastic copy this guy has written any thoughts on this 912/6?

I'm thinking of selling my original untouched 87 and either getting a project I can backdate or something like a 912 and installing a 3.0-3.2.

Run. That chassis is too trashed for his price. If you had a solid bare tub ready for paint and that car complete you would have a fun project. His description of the cage and sheet metal repairs are scary.

I like how he doesn't have time to enjoy this car because of a young family, but he will trade for a Porsche or Lotus!

Dude backdate your 87 it's a 1000 times better car than a 912....

I gotta give some credit to this car, someone had a look and they did it. They didn't hang a million badges on it, or make it all snazzy, they made it clean and apparently very fast and loud. For under $30,000 it's probably a lot of car, and pretty light. Sure you can backdate an 80s car, but you'll never shed some of those pounds, and nothing drives like a fast SWB car, I don't care what fenders or hood you bolt on.
Hate on this car all you want but the guy that buys it will be smiling, I promise you that.

The guy seems to be as honest as possible about the condition of the car. Like Adam said you aren't touching a SWB 911 anywhere near this price. if you want an Outlaw style car to have fun driving this would be a good start.

The only thing that makes me want a lower price is the redneck floor repair. Installing floors is my least favorite thing to do. Correction; I hate doing it! I've done a couple Mustangs and it sucks. I probably would never buy the car because of it. I would rather buy a $40-50k car that someone already did the rust repairs on but needs other work.

I am in Nashville and would be happy to take a look at it for you. About all I am qualified for is to take pictures(or a walkaround video) and send them along, but would happily do so if you are indeed interested.
Cheers,
Geoff

Wanna see the homemade sheet metal on the pan and rear firewall.

Lol, those pictures are curiously absent.

Of course they are. It is a well written and honest ad. But he has really only photographed its limited assets. I sold a much nicer, but totally stock 67 912 last year for around his ask. I wouldn't pay more than $12-15k for this car. But then I'm cheap and spoiled.

Good thing that your super sexy sexiness easily offsets those less-than-desirable traits, MountainMan!
