Value 1977 911?
Car has records
Needs paint How much does it affect a cars price if it no longer has a original motor? Thanks |
Depends on the motor. On a 77 it's probably a good thing.
unless it is a 3.0 Carerra from 77
Does it have a 3.0 sc motor swapped in? Hard top or targa? Without pictures and needing paint I'd say $20k?
77 is not smog exempt in California and other states that recognize the 75 model year as the cut off point. this will hurt the value IMO.
Hopefully you got a 2.7 MFI in that thing.
I'd give a range of $15-35K, more info/pics = closer estimate
This thread means nothing without photographs.

This is mine, I paid 21k about 5 years ago in California. Bought from some German guys that specialize in selling used Porsche and other Euro classic cars. The car had bad paint torn sports seats and 3.0 SC twin plug engine. The Smog thing does not hurt the value of the car it just hurts it if you live in Cali or Washington or where ever because you can not get them tag without passing smog. They are saving the earth by keeping all the 77 cars off the road. My car still has torn sports seats but I would ask 40K and take 35 for it, but it is not for sale! |
