Cheap Englishman & the 72 oil flap door
Hi,I was contacted by Ray Gentley of Britain to buy my 72 oil flap door for his car which is undergoing a restoration. He agreed on a price plus shipping. He wanted a picture & I sent him one.He wrote back he needed a hinge as well but knew they were expensive and hard to find.I responded that I could find one & let him know.He wrote back that he would need a picture to be sure.I sent a PM to Techweenie & he had one & sent me a very well built hinge.I sent the picture and told Ray the total for everything was $10.00 more with the hinge. He responded and said he did not want to spend that much money. He offered to pay $410 which was $75 less than our original agreement. My father used to say cheap people are tighter than the butt of a crab which does not leak underwater.I did not accept. What motivates these people to do this when I was trying to help a Pelican member out.At least I have a spare door & new hinge for my 72.Oh yeah the hinge was more than $10.00 from Techweenie.I feel bad for the 72 being restored by this clown.I feel better now. Thanks Fred

Watch for pictures and an ad in our classifieds. Seems a lot of those Western Union scammer dudes claim to be Uk based these days. He will use your pictures to sell something he doesn't have, and take the money and run...
