Well, this would suck
End German car sales in the US, not cool.

Reread your link, POTUS said "See the millions of cars they sell in the U.S., terrible. We will stop this." which the POTUS threatened to do by imposing a tariff.
Which of course will not stop the flow of cars but maybe stop the large flow of cars. I very much doubt this will happen any way and is just tough talk by the POTUS to wake up the EU to issues that are going to be address now by the new POTUS. |
I flipping despise that man child, hope even more German cars make it over here & I'm going to import some sweet 25yr old plus German/Italian/British cars in the not too distant future. Hopefully that bellend wont be in government for more than one term.

PARF! That's where this is headed, conversations about the man child and the lying whore belong there. Not here, please go there.

Porsches, not Politics. Let's remain friendly and focused, gentlemen.

This is about as likely to happen as most of the other things he says - it's not worth taking seriously. It should also hardly need to be pointed out that VW, BMW and Mercedes build about a million cars a year (I think that number is roughly right) cars in the US.

Google the Chicken Tax of 1963. Regardless of what you think about the man and his other policies, he's a total and complete idiot when it comes to trade and economics.

Poker play.
As in nevah gonna happen. |
God bless our President.

Instead he should be telling American automakers to make their cars more appealing because there will be no bailouts next time the pickup truck market falls apart.
|
He knows nothing about economics.....? He's a billionaire. Are you a billionaire, or smart / lucky enough to become one?
No? STFU. |
It's not like the Germans are dumping cheap stuff on the US market. AFAIK the cheapest German-made car available new in the US is the mid-20s VW Tiguan and when that goes Mexican this summer it will be the mid-30s 320i.
Domestic manufacturers can't compete with $67/hr assembly labor, some of the tightest environmental regulations in the world and only up-market offerings? |

Next thing you know he'll be in the market for a 986 chassis, to build a backdate restomod tribute with a lawnmower engine swap and no turbo powaaa. |

Not a chance regarding that new build, SickRick! I do like the anatomical thing that those hats represent, though!!! |
