Value of 1971 911T

Hi folks, I'm trying to get an approximate value for this '71T. Original paint except for hood and front apron, icepick revealed no rust through of rockers, kidney bowls, etc. Interior has no rips. As you can see it is in a state of partial disassembly. Looking for a value as is. Engine has new mahle pistons, new valves, but is partially disassembled. 95,000 miles on car, original engine/transmission, second owner. Thanks for any advice.

I'd be interested in purchasing this car if it comes up for sale - keen to hear what forum experts determine the market value is.

Thanks Whitepark, just trying to establish a fair value for the car for a transfer within the family.

Why does it have chicken wire on it? Engine is in pieces?

67R69S 06-27-2017 05:54 AM

Hi, the wire rolled under the car, it is not attached to it in any way. I was trying to get a picture of the floor. Engine is disassembled down to case, halves are not split. Engine was burning a lot of oil, hence the new pistons/ valves, guides, etc.

I would say $30K to $36K because it has no rust. You gotta remember that there are a lot of optimists on this board that see the potential of 'what a car can be' vs. 'what it is in its present state.'

It's gonna take a bit of assembly work and time = money.

Looks solid. I'd pay $35-40k for a car like that.

Thanks for the posts guys. Yeah, I'm trying to avoid valuing it at what it could be and more at what it actually is; a very solid car that needs a lot of work.
I just viewed this thread on my PC and I see most of the pictures are upside down; are you guys getting that too? My apologies, they were rightside up on my ipad. I will try to fix that.

Yep. They were fine on my iphone but upside down on my desktop.

Back together and running that car is worth a good chunk more.

I would sure send the engine case and heads out to a machine shop to get them to factory specs. I'd also be sure the crank and cams are near perfect to factory specifications (machine shop is a good place).

Otherwise, it's a huge gamble to offer over $20,000 for the car as is. Do you have a clear title?

Thanks, good advice that the next owner should check the specs on the engine parts. Same clear title for the past 41 years that we have owned the car. This is for a transfer within the family; just trying to put a fair value on it so I can make things equitable between siblings, not trying to sell the car unless intended recipient does not want it.
