Shipping of Porsche seats
I am in Canada getting ready to sell 2 seats from a 1975 911s anniversary edition.
Are there any rules of thumb as to what shipping these seats can cost? Also who do people use to ship seats? |

Separate the bottoms and backs from the seat hinge, pack with lots of foam rubber (or similar). Put them in a double box. Badda bing.
I like FedEx, but there are lots of good options. |

We just shipped a late model sport seats, via Greyhound, from Florida to California, cost $260 + the wardrobe boxes bought from Home Depot.. I have also used Fastenal for shipping large items, you might check and see if that is an option.

I've tried this twice recently. Once UPS lost the boxes between NJ and Washington State. Never to be seen again...
Next attempt was from San Fran to Arizona (where my parents live.) Boxes looked like Fedex kicked them all the way there when they arrived. The bag of hardware had fallen out somewhere in between. I strongly recommend attaching the bag of bolts to the seats somehow just in case the box gets a hole in it. My seats were taken apart and shipped one seat (back and bottom) per box. Also, be sure to bubble wrap heavily around the hinge parts. Otherwise the metal can mark up the leather during shipping. PS. After all the drama I'm loving my sport seats!
