First 911
Hello all,
I just relocated to Naples Italy and looking for my first 911, anybody have any recommendation on areas or specialty shops I should search? |
My recommendation is not to drive any car in Naples Italy if at all possible, let alone a Porsche.

If you can drive in New Jersey you can drive in Naples - no problemo!

I drove in Naples several times while stationed in Italy but that was 35 years ago. Worst place I drove in Europe.

So what you guys are saying is he should get either a 944 or 986 Boxster?
|
OP,
jokes aside, this forum is heavily US-centric, unlikely that you can find much informed advice about Naples or Italy in general. I'm sure there are Italian-language forums where you can find more relevant information. |
I can point you where to get a racecar serviced or built, but as for buying a driver I'm useless. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the info, true it is organized chaos out here when it comes to driving road signs and speed limits or more like suggestions out here and stop signs forget about it. I have a small hatchback for around town and back and forth to work. The 911 would be more for the weekend to get out of the city and drive out to the mountains and the country towns. To find those great driving roads everybody is all ways talking about here in Europe.

Thanks for the info fellas, I current have a daily out here and yes driving is chaotic but it is organized chaos. The 911 is going to be my weekend getaway car to find those epicdriving roads through Europe that I hear and read about.

But I can tell you that Italy is one of the best EU countries to find cars in - no rust. So happy hunting!
Check out mobile or autoscout. |
There's a Porsche club in Campania I think, if I recall correctly the first 991 gt3 that caught fire was at one of their outings, they might be a good source.

You did not say what your budget is, so I assume that you are "connected" and have available funds to buy a proper open 911.

That looks like the Stelvio pass, some 600 miles away from Naples

Thank you fellas,
I will be sure to check out the websites, and I will look into that Porsche club. If you mean well connected as having no wife and kids(aka debt) then yes...lol |
There are several Italians who frequent the Early 911S Registry website. You may want to post your request there as well.
