1984 Porche 930 Turbo and 1989 930 Turbo

Hey So i just came up on 2 930 porsche's for sale for 65k and 67k.


I know it has a pretty ugly body kit on it and some other aftermarket stuff. I have also heard a lot of bad things about BHCC.

I also saw another which I am most interested in. I also attached photos.

Here is a the description It has 54k original miles on it. Here are the mods below.
440hp, SS intercooler, 1 bar spring, headers, K27 turbo

Does that mean it doesn't have the original turbo?

I am most interested in this 89 porsche. Let me know your thoughts.

But I would love to know your valuation on this car just to get a better idea.

Iv been following the market and from what I see they sell for around 76-120k
How come there is such a big difference in prices on the same car?? Hargerty values a 89 at 200k

Which years are more desirable than others?

Here is another car that I am interested in.
I would love your thoughts and opinions. What you think the value of something like this is.

1979 Porsche 911 930 Turbo Coupe In Rowlett TX - Enthusiast Motorcars of Texas

It has AN after market turbo, and they did a g50 tranny swap.
The car was also just repainted, Doesn't really have any records.

I like the 79 the best.
How much are they asking for it?
The Grey 89 would be the second choice. Don't buy the BHHC car unless you have an extra $40k to fix it.

89 is very desirable because of the gearbox update plus last year of the 930.

The original turbocharger was a 3K (or the politically incorrect "KKK" ) 3LDZ - it is a horrible performer and the 3K K27 is an improvement. Is there any information about which K27 model it is (either a 7200 or a 7006 - they perform very differently)?

And if those listed mods are the only ones done to the engine, then I'm calling BS on the claimed horsepower numbers - more realistic would be around 325-350 at the wheels.

PS - the intercooler pictured is a B&B - I've never heard of an "SS" intercooler.

I understand that Mr. Rocket! when I drive my buddys 997 turbo I always hit the revlimiter first time I pedal it in 1st when I havent driven it for a while. The 89 is still a very very rare car.

P.s. Did you know that they have named a bicycle tire after you in Germany? And you dont even like rubber - Congrats!

I think you are close with the rwhp estimate with those mods listed. 400 is @ the crank. the 89 may not be too bad a deal. a bit cobbled together it would seem w/ the box rocker conversion...btw, not a good look.

its a personal thing but I really don't like the vented quarters or boxed rockers. Besides the G50 in the 89, I like earlier cars better. They are missing a few things the later cars have that seem to cause trouble. FOr example: yellow boost relays and underseat electronics that can cause drama.

There really aren't many photos of the 89' for me to make this determination, but I doubt it only has 56k miles on it looking at the engine bay. 89's are collectible and I looked for one prior to me buying my 87', but couldn't find one. The 79' looks like a nice car. Has some oil leakage so you should probably find out from where it is coming, but looks worthy based upon the pictures. More pictures of the 89' would help. However, I'm with aschen in that I'm not a boxed rocker guy...
