Upholstery Fabric Source Recommendations
Any recommendations? Hopefully a source that has selections listed online to view. Planning to refinish my seat inserts and maybe the doors. I imagine auto upholstery fabrics are more substantial for wear/stains than home use fabrics?
Thanks! |
Hello and welcome to the forum! I'm attaching a link below to a DIY tech article from our site that I hope you'll find helpful when refinishing your seats. Also, if you're looking for any dash or seat covers, we have a great source for that as well. Please let us know if you have any questions!

There are quite a few vendors depending on what you want/need- I'd start with Tony at Autobahn interiors. If you want some specific PM or email me.

After the Queen's experience with World, I'd pass:
Here the thread: (hope you don't mind, Marilyn) Here is the response from World Upholstery - wow "it is what it is"?? off gassing and feels like fiberglass - YUCK Hello Marilyn, It is what it is unfortunately. There's only one source of "perlon". Admittedly it's not as good as perlon back in the 70s and 80s but it's true for everything else nowadays. New manufacturing techniques, cost cutting, etc. There's really not much we can do about it. We'll take it back if you haven't installed it but you really won't find any better "perlon" out there. You're going to have to use a different lining material. I do have to comment that the material is still off-gassing and makes my eyes water. It is also very scratchy tike fiberglass. This is not how perlon normally is! Is this a different perlon substitute? I can’t handle this item with bare hands without getting scratches. Although your price was excellent, I cannot recommend this product as it is nothing like any perlon I have used before. Please advise, Thanks |
