Much of the value in that car is in the fresh metal work and paint. I, for one, would want to see it in person before placing a bid higher than what it's already at.

These are $50,000 cars..... this is already unreasonable given the non-matching motor..... much nicer cars out there.

Still lots and lots of work to be done. $32K and probably another $15K to complete and finish. Money goes very, very quickly.

Slate grey gives some guys wood. If you are one of those guys, that car is probably a buy all the way up to $40k. If you just want a 69-71 T targa keep shopping.

I never bid on it, but looks like its back up.

From the new listings description

Undercarriage needs significant metal repair (see pictures). Prior owner had work done by an under qualified body shop and will need to be redone. I've had two estimates for the metal work to remedy all rust areas, both were 10k.

Seller didn't disclose the metal work that needed to be done.

Man sorry to hear that, is there nothing that can be done via Ebay through there "vehicle purchase protection"?

Feel terrible for the buyer..he will never get anywhere near what he paid for it.. seems like the shady seller has more cars up for sale right now as we speak.

The general rule for these old longhoods, surprising none of these PPMP regulars have mentioned this to you yet, is to check for rust rust rust.

Did I say check for rust ? That ebay listing is a good example.
Good luck with the hunt.
