1979 SC Option Group A75, market value

There is a 1979 SC that is being advertised on eBay and it shows "Option Group A75" on the original invoice for $3600. I haven't been able to find any source that identifies what this group includes. This particular car was converted to a 935 body kit purportedly by JLP, the third of two built,..anyone have an opinion of what its worth...asking $77K? I like odd cars but this may be stretching it. I did see the 2008 Pelican thread re one of the other cars, the drug story and sale for $15K. Thanks!

Here's the link:

It's an SC with a body kit, I don't care who did it. That body kit can be had today for probably 5K. Not worth the premium IMHO.

Not even a turbo.....ultimate boss sheeper!

That's a cool car with a cool story behind it. It was owned by John Paul and was used as a prototype for the body kits for the John Paul and John Paul Jr. 935 race cars. The only reason why I decided not to buy the car is because it's just a 3.0SC. I wish they built this with a 930. It went unsold at Newports auction about 6 months ago

The epitome of a love/hate car. Its just a mile from me so I might stop in. But what is a Option Group A75 for that kind of money??

A75 is the "dispensation from heaven" option group.

I'm really curious now that the A75 answer has taken a backseat to the JLP shun. My mistake by not making the title clearer (no edit I think) but if someone is familiar with that option group please let me know also. Thanks!

It's an odd one. Back then options were an M suffix. An M075 option would be a car originally equipped for Chiner.

Maybe the A75 was the code and extra cost for the "SC" option.
The car in stock form was probably very nice with the Petrol Blue and Cork interior.

Interesting - that receipt shows a Lawrenceville address on Atkinson Road. That is about a 20 minute drive from me.

Saw the JLP today...car is very well put together, the fiberglass alum kevlar combo is thicker than expected but according to one of the articles in the binder with the car, that was to prevent "shatters" from road debris. The binder looks quite old, has some pictures of the car going back 20 years or so, bill of sale(s), and about 10 pages of various published articles re the JLP racing effort and the capers leading to jail. One article indicates two prototypes were built and the sellers think this is #2. Interior very nice, some wear on drivers bolster, and 68K miles very believable. Engine has red shroud, reasonable clean, with AC and a big alum bracket (empty) on the left front (?).

That being said, i am not a buyer at near the ask so hopefully someone else will see value here. Option Group A75???
