Speedster prices

Maybe the charm has gone from BaT or maybe the market has gone south. Look at the high bid on a Speedster today, and compare it with a worse car (rusty enough not to be safe to drive) three years ago. What do you think?

Have you heard the expression Apples to Oranges? Cause that’s what I see. One apple and one orange.

The market has softened from the high of 15 but stiil have lots of folks intrested in getting the P car they have always lusted after. I don't think two auction listings is accurate market analysis.

Even the junk was bid to frothy levels in 2015, point proven with this car. That same car doesn't sell anywhere near 300k right now imo. Plus, the recent one isn’t numbers matching and it has cloned wheels as well, so it’s not really comping like kind, yet it appears to be in better condition.

I think only the very top 1% of the collector car market can still command 2015 prices right now, the rest has fallen off.

The market is officially down, by around 20%. Selling still works, you just get less. The tough part of this market is buying. I've walked away from a lot of cars recently, people are quoting last year's pricing and don't believe me when I tell them the truth.

A few examples of cars we sold recently, all examples we are used to selling, all brought about 20% less than the last couple of years.

Yes, my thoughts as well. 2015 was the banner year. There are also lots of rich dudes that have gotten over rusty, old and tired slow cars that drive like VW Ovals and have moved on. Seriously.

Yup. This car should bring good money in August. RM don't mess around with garbage.
