eBay warning
I listed a set of wheels not long ago, I put a reserve on them and now they want me to pay $50 for putting a reserve on an item that did not sell.
eBay is a ripoff, I will never use them again. To all who read this, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED Tell everyone you know Last edited by turbo owner; 10-20-2017 at 11:53 AM.. |

eBay tells you what the cost of the listing will be before you submit it. They have always charged a percentage/fee if you set a reserve even if the item doesn't sell. The best way to avoid a upfront listing fee is to list the item as a "Buy it Now" option and allow best offers. You have to accept a offer in order for the sale to go through. The "Buy it Now" listing doesn't usually have any upfront costs unless you're selling a car or truck I think (they charge flat fees for those type of listings).

most people already know its a joke. it would cost $1000 to sell a $10k engine but put it in a car and sell it for $100k and it costs $50????????

First time for anything I guess but you're exactly right. eBay isn't one of the largest ecommerce companies in the world without reason. The value they provide for their fees is unmatched. Just try to find their combination of exposure and technology for anywhere close to their price. You want to see fees? Try selling on Amazon. Better yet, start your own website. You'll quickly see the value of eBay.
