Calling it a "replica" is a stretch. A turbo with a body kit....

It's certainly well done but what's a 993 turbo with a body kit worth?
You'd really have to like this car to pay $336K but considering what the "West Coast customs Porsche 356" sold for ($315,700) nothing would surprise me. https://youtu.be/kW6t9U58RVs

Well, there's a guy who keep trying to sell a 911 prototype on eBay for $21 million. I guess they list and hope there's a sucker out there ...

I think it would have been more valuable if they would have left it as a 993. Sure the 959 is an awesome car and a leader in so many automotive technologies and pushing the envelope and I would love to own one, but I never really found them especially visually appealing. They're almost a caricature of a porsche.

Looks like a 959 from the outside - but it is worth less than a similar condition 993tt, imo. Wheels are way off though. But I guess it is hard to find original 959 rims.
Edit. The more I look at it the more I find. Look at the rockers. Waaaaaay too wide. Bet it was a wrecked 993 that was the donor. 2. Edit. The car is bad in every way. I take everything back - just not a "delete all" guy. Last edited by christiandk; 10-26-2017 at 10:38 AM.. |

Funny ten years ago you could buy a real 959 for half of the asking price of the fakey-do sheeper

The bogus 959 is awful. First of all there was no 993 turbo in 1995 so what did this car really start life as? Second once Porsche did build a 993 Turbo it had a lot more horses than the 330 they say this car has. I can't imagine this car selling for anything even close to that number.

What's really hilarious about this car and number...is that it would SIT if the price was $36K - because someone who bought it for $36K would have to excavate the bodywork off the car, discard it for $500 on Craigs, and then rebuild what it was to begin with.
Seriously, people wouldn't give $36K. |

If it was a real 993 turbo the engine, trans, suspension.... everything but the body would be with more than $36k The engine alone is worth that

So, it's going to go to someone who wants to take the risk and part it. Go through all the time. What something is worth is something that is out, clean, has real-world leakdown numbers and actually runs well. And that's if it's a 993 turbo engine.

I'm just saying, if the car was a true 993 turbo (were assuming here based off the information, but truly we have no idea) but if it were a real 993 turbo in average condition I would pay $36K in a heart beat for that car. the sum of its parts are worth drastically more than $36K
