Damn Alan. I didn’t get past the dcoe carb ad as first post here. But if someone is wishing to explore it gave you plenty to go on.

Leety's vicious tone struck me over what is really at the end of the day a small $20K matter for a shop like this. I had assumed it was staged to draw in the I told you so groupies. Regardless, it worked. Well done.

Attacking a customer however justified you think you are is never a good idea.

The part I don't think she understands is that she's talking in a forum full of people who have a lifetime of experience with Porsches, body work, and business ownership.

The most confusing part is how does a customer know such specific details about another customer's personal business with a shop? I would expect a shop to afford me some level of privacy about my personal business with the shop. Leety is openly mocking and insulting the customer.

Obviously an insider in spite of her protestrations otherwise.

It's funny how those who spoke on behalf of John Esposito are either silent now or spewing like a raving lunatic, the I told you so groupies and our resident Internet censor types excepted of course and not to imply we don't have our resident lunatics too !

The new addition to the thread for JE is doing as bad as job if not worse than the person now running his company. It may even be the same person. As a business owner you do not go to war with your customers. A customer only has one shot at this type of deal whereas a business has hundreds of opportunities. The phrase the customer is always right comes to mind. As a business sometimes you have to settle, take a small loss and move on.

Did he take the money?

The true story: John's pathological customer Chad wouldn't pay him to completely reconstruct a car that was supposedly some famous race car, when it's in fact it is a nothing sandwich. This Chad guy is a complete idiot and a jerk and he's trying to demonize and cast John, as something he's not, to cover for his foolish moronic purchase.

Pelican get your act together and don't host this sort of nonsense. Please delete all those inane derogatory comments. This is not the place for that BS. It's not like your platform is twitter. It's a place to support the Porsche community not host the defamation of character of of the very skilled owner of an excellent shop.

For those people out there who don't like body filler, don't involve yourself in the restoration of old cars, cause it comes with the territory.

touringmandan 11-21-2017 11:21 AM

So, did anyone actually go to JE's? What was the outcome? Was the subject restoration 911 there?
Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Fixed it for you.

This maneuver is as obvious as the day is long.

The lien sale is less that 30 days away. He'll not only loose the car and his money but be facing a defamation of character suite, that's going to cost him. That's where this is headed in the legal realm.

Dollar to donuts the sale never goes through, easy to stall a lien sale in the state of CA. Then there will be a court battle where the facts are presented the owner of a vehicle paid for work to be performed it was not up to standard. The judge will make a small compensation either to the owner or the shop and case will be closed. Leety's rants are just additional scar tissue. SmileWavy

What happened?

SalParadise 03-25-2018 02:10 PM

Yes I was wondering myself. All this drama and then...nothing.

Matt Monson 03-25-2018 04:52 PM

JE continues to post projects on FB.

gearby 03-25-2018 08:50 PM

Last time the OP (sixtyseven911) was here was Jan. 05. If anybody knows the guy tell them to get ahold of him and tell him we need closure.SmileWavy

I bet Chad got his car and an NDA.
