Door#5....

Ouch, that is a hard one (thats what she said).

That is probably not as nice as it looks on first glance. I think that bad things are covered under that thick layer of paint.

A lot of small things are off. Overspray on color code tag, metal around rear lid lock looks funny, fan has been rattle canned etc. Whats up with the bolts for rear lid lock and door hinges?

Corners have been cut on this one.

It wil go for 73.500.

Edit. Looks like I am way off with my guess - will be exciting to see what it goes for, if it goes at all.

No idea but interested to see where it lands. That’s a nice little sleeper.

Matt needs glasses and/or critical sense.

Take a close look on the pics of the underside. Jacking point. Yuck!

“Smart” to sell this on an auction - limited liability.

NYNick 11-11-2017 09:34 AM

won't break 65.

specialtyoneinc 11-11-2017 10:44 AM

there is something to be said about that color & I'm all in on it!. when I was a kid dreaming of a 911 seeing that car, or some other funky color in a magazine or such was intoxicating. better than red, white or blue, with all due respect. plum crazy!

like titties! :)

Sold on 11/16/17 for $93,004

techweenie 11-16-2017 03:50 PM

That price is a bit of a shocker. I felt there were far too many shortcuts/weird choices to support anything over $70-75K. But correcting everything is likely $5K or less. So, *bargain!*

Now to check in on all the 'market is softening' threads...

Matt Monson 11-16-2017 03:52 PM

Ridiculous. But really, what would it cost to build as nice of a car? It's not really that ridiculous in that context. I'll be interested to see where the market is in 5 years when all these fresh builds selling for a lot have 20-25k mi on them and are run in a bit.

Helluva color premium

Easily a $15k bump compared to a standard color.

Matt Monson 11-16-2017 05:34 PM

My 68T was aubergine but I dislike the color. I always wanted to return it to light ivory original. It still had its red interior intact. Guy who bought it restored it right. I’ve never been able to wrap my head around an aubergine premium. But I’m in the minority.

The seller did well, imo. Very well.

I bet that the buyer is in for a lot of surprises!
