40th Anniversary 911

I am considering parting with my 2004 40th Anniversary 911. I’m the second owner, the car has 49,500 miles and I have addressed many of the critical weak points on these cars (IMS, RMS, clutch, water pump, t-stat, engine mounts). The car also got new tires and an alignment in March of 2017. This example also has all of the luggage that these cars came with, including the wallet and key pouch. When I was looking for one, this was the only car I found with all luggage intact.

Prices are all over the map. Any ideas?

With that kind of low mileage and the luggage, I'd say it's a 45K car to someone who has to have one. I also own a 40th, no luggage.

I own one with just over 18K miles with all the leather goodies too. It's far better than all the air cooled 911s I've had over the past 40+ years.

You should get mid to upper $30s. BAT will probably get you the most money these days.

Maybe for a car that hasn’t had the major work done I could see mid-30s, like the car you linked. Factor in everything I’ve done to that car and you’re probably pushing $40-42k. Still, for someone who’d rather do that themselves, that’s a decent comp.

I hope you get all the money. You probably will get close to $40k on BAT but don't expect them to give you a reserve that high.

Another recent comp for a nice example. I know eBay sales are 50/50 but this seems like a real deal.

Yes this one is realistic priced/sold, congrats to both. Not even a good deal but okayA

Yep, agree on BaT, and having sold a car there, I would expect a fairly low reserve, too. I think the cars that have not had IMS/RMS/clutch, etc., are fetching low to mid 30s. I have seen only one car with those repairs and I think it was high-30s, so perhaps your estimate range is right.

imho, on a 13ish year old car with 50K miles and known mechanical challenges, one could argue that all the money you've spent should be considered "maintenance" and not necessarily command a price premium, especially when you consider aftermarket IMS fixes also need replacement with time.

The luggage sounds intriguing and could be worth something extra to a certain buyer, but may not be everyone's cup of tea and may be something a buyer who pays a premium might simply sell if not desired to recoup some money.

That said, it could still be a $35-40K car given the small run and folks appreciation of "limited run" cars..
