Considering an '88 G50 in Atlanta. Thoughts?

Is anyone familiar with this car or seller?

https://www.gravityautossandysprings.com/1988-PORSCHE-911-CARRERA-c-2264.htm

I spoke to the dealer today. He is not familiar with p-cars and only has the carfax for records... I know it's not the best scenario but the car looks good in the pictures

Does anyone know of a reputable shop near Sandy Springs for a PPI?

Thoughts on the price sans records? I have asked for undercarriage and options sticker pics.

TIA!

Dan

Looks nice, sans the drivers seat. I would inspect the shocks on the driver side as one would imagine a BIG person drove that....LOL

Not familiar with the dealer. RS Motorworks is a P car specialty shop located about 2 miles north of where that dealer is.

I often drive past this dealer. They seem to have a lot of nice cars and often newer Porsches, Corvettes etc. I have not heard any direct feedback about them. Car looks to have been owned by someone partially handicapped which would explain the dent in the seat which may have been where a cane or similar rested. You have Franz Blum pretty close for a PPI in Tucker.

Beautiful car, fair price. From what I can see, it needs a $7 ignition switch bezel (or paint it yourself with SEM trim paint), and a stock shifter knob.

That bezel is a pet peeve of mine on these ads for otherwise beautifully preserved or restored cars. Unless they've been replaced or painted, they're all chalky at this point. Such a cheap and easy thing to fix for what otherwise sticks out like a sore thumb.

If you really serious about this car, get it checked out by Jack Lewis in Norcross.

Thanks for the insights all. I’ll see if I can get it to one of the recommended guys above soon for a PPI.

Having owned 911’s for a while now, I’m familiar with the common issues/areas of concern. Are there any items specific to this car that you would recommend me having them pay particular attention to?

I talked to one of the sales guys. He indicated that this car is not what they specialize in and we're open to offers. Said there is a binder full of service records in the car. I asked if there was a receipt for a top end or engine rebuild, they said no. Betting it wil need a top end.
PPI.
Oh, and also- PPI.

Edit, fixed IPhone auto correct.

PPI should cover everything you need to know. Make sure to get compression & leakdown. Keep us posted...

After talking it over with a few trustworthy guys, I’m not pursuing this one. Just not worth the effort with no documentation.

Smart move. No documentation is a deal killer IMO unless you're getting for way under market.

Too much emphasis on documentation. Compression gauge, paint meter, careful look and test drive will tell you everything you need to know. Assuming, you know what to look for.
