Wow, so glad I moved West! Guess I should stop complaining about the rain!

I see you left a chair out for the night watchman.

Nice picture!

Rain like this only happens every 10 years or so. If I was in SF I would be complaining about the cold Summers. We go there just to wear a sweatshirt in August.

Very few cars make it more than one winter before they move on and one winter won't hurt them. Also, the inside is full.

It's not winter in North TexASS - high of 85 today with 78% humidity - feels like a pressure cooker due to the humidity - a/c going full blast!

You know how hard it is to find a Porsche to buy in TX? My business wouldn't last 6 months out there. The last one I got from TX was rougher than a 3rd night in jail, but at least it was rare, Super 90 Roadster.

Same with Cali, I could never do what do there, too many guys looking for cars, cost of doing business too high, nope, the NE is the place for me, and 11 months out of the year it isn't so bad, just right now it sucks.

^^^

I would never recommend anyone move to TexASS, unless he/she actually likes sweating ass for most of the year - the climate here is downright horrible 80% + of the time (miserably hot and humid - talking 4 months out of the year where it's still in the high 90s at 1-2 AM!). No wonder I'm always crowing about my a/c building prowess, right?!?!

Wait, that outside lot is filled with cars that have only been there for a year? I was assuming those cars have been sitting there for a decade, on average. There must be 50 cars in your lot, which means you average turning over a car a week? You're just selling them in "as found" state, I would imagine? Maybe a couple of full restorations a year, as well? I can't even imagine how you'd find 50 cars a year. You must have an enormous array of national IFTTT / SearchTempest alerts!

50 cars in one year? I did a 50 car deal last year!
The turnover is pretty rapid, people who come by a couple of times a year always marvel at the fresh meat. And I don't buy anything off of Craigslist or really the internet in general. There are no deals on the internet.

I love winter, snowboarding, snowmobiling, less people out and about, bugs die off, pure bliss ! Try Florida, the Petri dish of the nation, always hot & humid bar about 11 days out of the year. High crime, gr******* drivers, really bad drivers, way too many hoomans, flat, crap roads, need I say more ?

I used to do that, at the old shop, it kept the city off my arse, but the car covers are actually worse in the snow, it creates little tombs for the cars.

Fascinating. If you're not buying anything retail, how do sellers know you even exist?
I'd imagine you're not constantly buying from the same "supplier", as you would if you were re-selling a mass produced widget on your Ebay/Amazon store.
Yet, you don't seem to be doing the typical "We buy Porsches!" ad in Panorama or PCA Post (Like Vertex, Holt, Beverly Hills Car Club, Gullwing, et al)

It doesn't pay to try and compete with Gullwing or BHCC by running ads, you end up paying too much for crap cars.
How do people find me? I have a great reputation in the Porsche community for being very fair and very discreet if the buyer choses. Remember, lots of these guys have large collections but only want to sell off a few cars, but don't want the world trampling their rose garden to see the whole collection and then take pictures for the world to see. It takes years to build such a reputation but once you do the phone steadily rings and you end up with more cars than you know what to do with, and they get covered in snow...

It can't get worse, right? More snow, more hate.
