356c
In the local (semi-local) paper this evening, I see where a 1965 356C coupe is listed. Very rare around here to see any type of Porsche for sale. The dude was pretty proud about the body-off paint job, but gave no other details re: miles, running condition, etc. The postage stamp sized picture looked like a Porsche anyway (red, of course).
Asking $38,000. Could be a good deal, or could not depending on a lot of things. Haggerty's inflated assessment has the average value at $78,000. I'm not in the market to plunk down that kind of cash at this stage of my life. Just thought y'all would find this interesting. |
A body off paint job would be interesting.

Sounds like a scammer since the body does not come off a uni body car like a 356.
I would ask to see the car in person or ask for a detailed picture of something on the car. |
But yeah, if it is not rusty and runs and real, $38k is a great price.

My mistake. I re-read the add and it was not a "body off" paint. Just the car being "completely taken apart" for and prior to the paint job. We'll probably never know what it sold for.
