2003 Carrera 4s 90k miles?

Hello all,

A local business owner I work with is thinking of letting his 2003 Carrera 4s go.

It has 90k miles and I would call it a driver. I would rate the interior/exterior an 8 of 10.

Its black on black with new tires, new cats, new brakes. Stick shift and located in Northern California.

The car was not at his office so I don't have any pictures. I have seen the car and I would say it's in good shape, not perfect.

He has a new project and wants to let it go somewhat quickly. He's not looking to give it away but I don't think he wants to let is sit trying to get "top dollar".

I'm not a "modern" car guy so I ask the collective....what's it worth?

Thanks in advance!

K.

RMS/IMS? You need to know.

I owned a 2003 C4S Cab, not coupe. With a little suspension work, that car rocked. But 90k miles and 14 years later, these cars aren't worth a whole lot.

Does 2nd gear pop out? That was a known issue.
Has it had routine and consistent maintenance, especially oil changes? Does he have the records?
Have you checked Ebay and Panorama for comps?

A quick check through Panorama shows a ton of 996's for sale, many with much lower mileage at sub $40 and even sub $30's pricing.

I think this car is in the $20's somewhere. Plus, you'll have to do the RMS/IMS job maybe, which is $3-$4K.

Tread carefully.

Realistically, I think it will sell at Mid 20's if you have records for IMS and clutch... assuming stick. Tippy... I have no clue... a lot less.

Maybe a little more if he's willing to sit on it for a while.

Asking prices on ebay and such are much higher.
