That would be a double pinch.

I've had my 912E for 20 years this year. In the meantime, I've had all sorts of other enthusiast cars including 911's. My current daily driver is a 526hp 2017 Shelby GT350. I've said it many times: the 912E hits a sweet spot of fun little momentum cars that you gotta wring out to enjoy and you can do so without drawing a lot of attention or requiring felony speed. It's not all that fast. But it's kinda "quick," and it's got great balance, great handling (better than contemporary 911's - and I've extensively autocrossed both) and nearly all of the other sensory and aesthetic input of a vintage 911, minus the unique 911 sound. Now, the 911 sound is important and shouldn't be overlooked. But my 912E now has custom equal length headers and a Burns muffler on it and it sounds great - different, but great.
Don't overlook a 912E. It's not a 911, and it wasn't intended to be. It's a different car with it's own qualities. |
This one may be interesting?

That one was listed in my area too, but "located" in Chicago. |
^^^
Good catch. I just Googled the text and this ad is posted many places on Craigslist. And a search of the photo brings up ads from last October. Looks like yet another CL scam listing - unfortunately....... |
Fun project in great color.

I am going to be selling my 912E soon, #2038 in Sahara Beige with sunroof.
It is not restored, 148K but a good driver with a rebuilt engine and new clutch with less than a few thousand miles. No rust but does have needs (windscreen seals, which I have), sunroof works but sticks half the time, no door pockets, a few dings. Only documentation is under my ownership for the past five years. I am out of town till Sunday, however will load a couple of photos off my phone. Price thoughts? Thanks. Geoff |

One of the very last ones too!! |
Thanks Christian. I've been planning on selling for a while, just can't find the motivation....I hate the selling process.

This looks to be a great car with a well done add. good job http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/986597-1976-porsche-912e-sale-nashville.html |
Wish it was for sale sooner.
Paid $25k for a 912E not as nice as his. :( |
Thank you dsnfctn.
BK911, wish I had been a bit more motivated...would have been nice to have someone close get it. I dislike the process of selling as it never fails that you start receiving a bunch of messages from flippers posing as collectors. I will start a new thread of accumulated BS stories after I sell the 912E and my E-type. |
Nice little car, engine be damned.
|
I am also considering a 912e. Can one of our experts tell me what body panels were not galvanized in the pre March production cars? Thanks in advance!!!
