I’d like to see that but I feel like BaT does not bring strong money..

Looking at this auction and the fact it STILL has not passed $100,000.. I’m saying $125,000 and NO SALE.. Rightfully so.

Do you feel like a 77 930 with 35,000 miles is a driver??

You never see 77 930s with these low of miles.

I feel this 930 is $150,000 all day long at sothbey’s, gooding, ect not BaT.

Oh god. I agree with 930XX.
BAT has become the ideal place to sell your backdate hot rod. Not so much for your all original car.

The recent Ferrari 575M maranello F1 failing to even get past $90,000

Many testarossas getting stuck in the $70,000 ballpark.

BaT is a enthusiast site not a collector site.

I think people get lazy and look for quick $$$ so they list on BaT. They often leave tens of thousands on the table.

Good place if you are a dealer as many times collector cars are about cheaper than anywhere else..

I meant nice honest driver condition. If the mileage is correct obviously it hasn't been driven ;). Sounds like it sat for 20 years and just had a mechanical refresh. Good candidate to restore into a real nice example.

Well played again. The market for drivers has really corrected. I always thought the non- intercooled Turbos brought a nice premium.

Well I’d say BaT is strong arming folks into LOW reserves!

Porsche owners need to take heed from ferrari owners and avoid the site unless you have a modded track car ect.

We saw all the warning signs when F cars started to fall flat but only BaT. That was something like 9 to 10 months ago..

I would not put a collector grade anything on BaT. Especially a porsche, ferrari or lamborghini.

BaT is fun enthusiasts site. Not a serious collector car site.

Mocker 01-30-2018 01:34 PM

^ If that's the case, then you should just camp out on BAT and buy all the 930s (and all the other "investment grade" cars) and flip them for an easy profit!

Unless, of course, BAT is simply reflecting where selling prices really are. Incidentally, where do you get the idea that these cars are worth so much? What's your source of actual selling prices that support your $150k+ price tag?

I don’t think the market has corrected anything..

We just saw a 76 930 dogged out with 100,000 miles sell for $97,000

Then this clean original 77 with 36,000 miles sells for $15,000 more..

Come on.. That is the BaT platform and it utterly fails for these types of clean original examples.

This 930 will be flipped too.. maybe it already has been..

This does seem like a pretty weak result for an original and honest car which you don't see often. The seller did a poor job in terms of presentation and involvement in the auction which seems to make all the difference on BaT. I think if he had professional photographs of the entire car, its details/flaws, plus some supporting videos of the car running and driving it would have been 10-20k more. You simply can't present a car of this caliber in the manner the seller did and extract an excellent result.

Well said. The pictures (needed 100+ professional photos) and responses from the seller really kept it down. Left $10k min off the table.

Here's a way better example on how to market the car. Nicer car also.

We do great on BAT, here are some recent examples, but the cars must be presented properly!

1977 turbo... What will it Bring?

Yes a few weeks ago on BaT a 85 930 did $115,000 and then a special wishes 930 did $166,000.

I only saw the auctions through my phone so can’t tell how bad the pictures really were..

I guess the $115,000 question is.. why did this 930 underperform so badly.. More importantly why did the seller take such a lowball number..

Damn it every time and I mean EVERY TIME something seems too-good-to-be-true guess what..

You mean the turbo bubble that popped?

I’m looking forward to driver 930s in the 50s again.

Here’s an Andial converted 79 DP. Isn’t 79 supposed to be special? Why is it sitting at $94k for 8 months?
