where the tail meets the lid.
rear license plate bracket is rusted.

dried mud on steering wheel
dried mud on the seats

mud/mold at the dashboard vent area
mud/mold on the inside passenger door sill (A-pillar)
mud/mold on driver's inside door pull.

carpets pulled up is another sign

Mud all over the engine
Engine lid hinges are rusty.
Look at the mud on the air filter

Look at the rust at the bottom of the brake booster

Level of oxidation of the engine case.

AFAIK Tammy didn’t hit LI that hard.
Irene and Sandy were the ones I remember making a mess.
But I don’t live down there so my memory may not be the best.

look at the moss on the case! I'm no botanist, but that was in a moist place for a long long time.





looks like it was rolled into a pond or something and it sat there for a while. or at a minimum sat in a field or something with moist tall vegetation that held the moisture in and around the lower portion of the car. it would take a full submergence in salt water, then as matt said "put away wet" to achieve such devastation.
