1981 911 from BAT to Ebay

This car was "reserve not met" on Bring-a-trailer in October of 2017 for $44,200. Now it's on eBay with a buy-it-now of $55,000. Now you have a second chance at it.

Nice looking car, I remember it on BAT. Why not fix some of the items and make it much more sellable?

Those wheels are expensive, same for the TRE bumpers and duck. Actually a far number of expensive parts.

The car probably appeals to someone who wants a turnkey modded air cooled 911, but IMO it misses the mark for top dollar without the turn signals working, the fuel guage working, and some of the other faults. Fix the stuff, put some speakers in and the appeal will be a lot greater to the none DIY people. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, it's amazing how people go so far and don't clean up the details. It's like the car on Craigslist that needs a fuel pump or a sensor - a simple fix but they cannot, will not, or just don't bother.

It would be nice to see the guy spend an extra $1k to get it together...or take a weekend and just get it done.

My first 911 was a 1970 targa I got for $1000. Reportedly had a bad fuel pump and seller couldn't afford to fix it. Car was at the dealer, where they had estimated $800 for the job.

I had it trailered home and that next weekend I dove in on the pump replacement. I unbolted the cover plate off the bottom and found the fuel pump unplugged. Plugged it in. Car was running 15 minutes later.
