Krazy Kar Kalls

I get a call on my cell:
Caller:"Is this Dan? Do you buy old Porsche's?"
Me: Yes, I do. What do you have?
Caller: I have a '58 Speedster. It's all original. Was my grandfather's, then my dad's.
Now it's mine, and I want to sell it. What will you pay?
Me: That would depend on the condition. When and where could I see it?
Caller: It's in Charlotte. It's been in storage since 1988. All original, motor and
everything. Numbers matching. What will you give me for it?
Me: Again I would need to see it before I can make you an offer.
Caller: But about what would you pay for my car?
Me: I cannot talk price before I see your car. Where and when can I see it?
Caller: I am out of town for a few days. Would you pay $150,000?
Me: Possibly. I will need to see the car.
Long pause.....
Caller: Well, I guess I will just keep it. I don't really want to sell it. Maybe i'll get it
repainted and then try to sell it.
Me: Well, that sounds like a good idea. Best of luck.
I checked the phone number. Tampa FL. area code. (813).
You can't make this stuff up. $150k sight unseen? I am sure he would want a deposit wired 'just to hold it"

Sounds like a well known FL guy, he does this every few years, finds someone new who buys Porsches, starts telling him all about his stuff, which is a lot, strings them along, but never will every actually sell anything.
About 10 years ago he strung me along on a Speedster he had, it was in two pieces, he didn't know what he wanted. After six months I had had enough playing footsie under the table, I told him I would give him X amount, he quickly came back and said it's worth twice that.
He has since come at me a couple more times, other names, different pictures, but I always sniff him out. But every couple of years someone flies all the way down to FL, gets a tour, ooohhhh's and aaahhhh's, but never actually gets to buy anything.
I would be willing to bet $100 it's the same dude.
