Price Check: Virgin 1966 Aluminum 2.0L case

Just checking the price on a 1966 911 virgin aluminum 2.0L case.

And a ton of early S (red) and other engine fan shrouds

7-10K on the case.
shrouds are not worth much as there are good reproductions that look better than used shrouds. $250 is all the money for a good used shroud.

Nice case. I wish they stayed with aluminum from this time on. But they did not.

Ping catorce. I think he might be looking for a small displacement sample for his casting project.

Meaning it was torn down from original factory build and never modified in any way.

A Virgin like Madonna?- she's had plenty of shafts and rods in her "case".

LOL you guys are too funny.

Does the case have a serial number stamped into it or is it blank? If numbered it would be worth a lot to the current owner of the original car that got a replacement case.

I would post the engine serial number on the early S registry. There's a thread there called Engines Lost and Found where you can post it. Several cars and engines have been reunited this way.

Very common to use back in the day, sand cast cases for race engines, stronger and cheaper than the later mag cases for the longest time.
So if your engine race engine was put together more than 10 years ago it was very common to use the sand cast cases.
I bought an old race car and it had a early 64 case used for racing in the IMSA series.
I sold the case last year for 5k, and it was not a virgin. Line bored, fins knocked off and the spigots were enlarged.
I think the 65 cases are worth more than the 64 case because there are more 65 cars than 64 cars. It was hard to find someone who wanted the 64 case I had.
