For a good laugh - Most butchered conversions of all time
 

Since we all come across these ridiculous conversions from time to time, and stare at them in bewilderment wondering what motivated someone to do this to a car...

I just stumbled onto this one, and omg is it totally atrocious. I personally, am quite offended that half of these morons that make these Franken-Porsche’s call them a Gemballa because I own an original Gemballa, and this car has absolutely nothing to do with Gemballa whatsoever. It’s even had most anything Porsche related to it removed from it as well.

Don’t low ball this guy, cause he knows Porsche. LMAO! I’d say he probably knows porch far better than Porsche, cause this should be parked indefinitely out back of his house to hide it from view, kind of where you’d find the porch to a home.

The best part...your buying a car up on blocks, cause he is removing the only thing of value before it gets sold - the Fuchs.

I’m sure there are dozens (probably hundreds) of these monstrosities out there, so I thought this would be a perfect thread for when you need good a laugh.

There should really be a mass junk graveyard somewhere for all of these poor cars that started life with so much hope, and ended up with so much despair...

Yep. Strosek seems to get blamed for many of these too. The asking price is quite insane.

The best one I've ever bought, the guy was sooooo proud of the car. Matching numbers 73S, all metal slantnose, even had unicorns etched in the glass.
I bought it and traded this car and my rough Roadster for my driver roadster, that I still have. You can read the whole story here, it was in ESSES.

That’s a great story Adam. Ironically, my real Gemballa was featured in Total 911 magazine a few years back, and they tilted it “Miami Vice” too. Also ironically, the very first Porsche I owned many moons ago, was an equally bastardized 1972 911 soft window targa that had been totally chopped up to look like a Slantnose. It was all I could afford back then. What a monstrosity it was, but I was still hooked nonethelsss to Porsche, even though my entry point was such a poor clone. I sold it a year later and started acquiring more legitimate Porsche’s after that.

Yeah, for many of us the Porsche journey is a series of stepping stones to get to the one we want. My first was actually pretty stock, a 75S Targa, not terribly exciting, but I was hooked. And please no comments on the loafers, it was the 90s...

I wish I could find an image of my old ‘72 bastard to share. The journey has turned into a full blown addiction for me. Though I guess as far as addictions go, there could be many that are far worse than 930’s.

Adam what happened to that '75 S Targa?

Repairs quickly bankrupted a poor college student, so I sold it and kept a salvage recovery Jetta that Matt and me bought at the auction. It would be many years before I drove another Porsche. But the Porsche disease is a patient landlord, and knows you will be back to pay the rent.
Now I'm literally swimming in them.

Wow - I was going to say it looks more like a messed up 968, but it seems like the real deal: The 1980 Porsche that was used to build this out of was wrecked and the frame was perfect so they used it to build this kit car.

Hard to resist a car that "shifts out smooth" !!
