at 2,000,000 miles you would expect it to be practically worn out! ;)

Such a beautiful machine Mac and one that in you heart, you might well wish to keep. Selling a HP2 is going to be hard I would think because they represent the end of a engine focus that BMW always held dear, air cooling and simply engines. Your bike, and mine as well, along with all the brother HP2 owners out there, represent a minor part of the motorcycle owners world and it is simply rare for someone to seek out the most powerful air-cooled engine motorcycle ever built, especially one on which the cylinders stick so far out. If I were to put mine up for sale here in Florida right now, no one would call and if they did it would only be to offer 13,500. or so, if that, when in reality a clean HP2 like yours is still worth over 18,500 in my opinion. Still, the number of people who will actually buy one is dwindling while at the same time...........many of us feel so very proud to actually own and ride the strongest air-cooled twin motorcycle ever built. One of my favorite thing about it remains it's front brakes which helped it turn in a Motorcyclist road test stopping time from 60-mph of 107 feet, making it the fastest stopping BMW ever built until the new 1000RR which now hold the record as the fastest stopping motorcycle ever offered for sale to the public with a 60 to 0 distance of 97 feet.

A very lucky and forward thinking person will buy your bike..........and a new chapter in their life will commence.

And a buyer who has a great collection is coming to pick it up on tomorrow, so I'll be down to the Megamoto and the R90S.

...and gone!

I am going to ride her tomorrow and see what the fuss is all about :D

macfly 06-09-2012 02:18 PM

Enjoy!!!! She's a beauty for sure, and I really hope you give her a taste of the 96 & 3 - two of the best roads I've ever driven!!

shreddr 06-09-2012 04:38 PM

Did you buy it Ralf?

CoffeeGuy 06-09-2012 06:06 PM

Cool.

signit98 06-09-2012 07:18 PM

No, Jeff, my friend Ben bought it... I just accompanied him to pick it up today... easier to load/unload and the drive up to LA was not as boring.

But when Ben owns it, I can ride it... and so I will!

Great meeting you, Andrew. Nice Garage and even nicer view... Somehow I feel that both of you made a good deal. I hope you will be able to join us for a ride one of these days.

macfly 06-09-2012 08:11 PM

For sure I will, the Megamoto is primed and ready to ride all the time, and the R90S will be back from Irv Seaver after (almost two years!) soon I hope. Would you pass this link along to Ben, its the shot I was talking about taken in his back yard up north. BMW Z8
