Yeah usually underneath. Check the heat shield by the Cat converter. If those nuts are loose they make noise that will drive you nuts especially when downshifting.

Let me know if you get things sorted out with trading out storage boxes for seats on your 964 Cab.
I would be happy to swap my seats for your storage boxes. I have a 1991 Cab with tan seats...

Golf clubs

I have a '91 cab 964 and I can get 2 sets in small Golf bags with driver and 3 wood taken out of bags. Place loose clubs over the clubs, a little sideways.
