Pretty easy to cut out the supports with an angle...

Pretty easy to cut out the supports with an angle grinder. Epoxied in a fiberglass insert from Getty (IIRC). Then we installed a roof net to meet the safety guidelines for POC racing.

AFAIK, the Recaro sliders / side mounts are the lowest profile available. I am 6'3", but I also have custom floor mounts (lower and stronger than the factory mounts), and I have the sunroof removed....

The blanks are stamped "964 246" and "964 247", as visible in the first picture. 993 RS was from 95-96, but I'm not sure what the lift and duration specs are. HTH.
