Looking for a Spyder seeking input

After my '04 S SE suffered "the beginning of the end" engine failure mode associated with the IMS, of which I quickly dumped at wholesale, I'm now seeking a Spyder to replace it. My pricing research...

Front trunk not opening

Battery fine, rear trunk opens fine, when I press the remote or in car lever to open the front trunk I can hear the switch but it will not open. Thoughts, options ???

Worse fears realized. Apparently the IMS has sheered off from where it attaches to the oil pump. New shaft and oil pump needed. $7K repair. I guess it could have been worse and it could have come...

Have them check for a leak at the oil pump. Mine is in for replacement o rings and gaskets. Leaked about the size of a shoe a day when running it regularly

Don't think its the IMS, perhaps some other engine wear, camshaft. lifters etc. Mechanic is going to check into further next week.

Unfortunately that is not the end of the story. When they drained the oil to pull off the pump they found the a "fuzzy drain plug". Looks like some engine wear happening. So much for the investment...

Anyone know how to remove the seat belt buckler wire from the harness

Got the seat out but can't figure out how to remove the wire from the harness. BTW a 3/8 socket works to remove the seat bolts.

Solved

Stopped at the dealer, service manager took the key apart did something with the battery and circuit board, put it back together and now it works. No charge, thank you Porsche Greenville !

remote fix

tried to reset via the operating manual, no good. took the remote to the auto parts store and it did not detect a signal coming from the remote with a fresh battery. Weird that the LED is stuck...
